In addition to these, our experienced and trained staff will carefully design a plan of care specifically for the needs of each client. We take the time to get to know them, their personality, their likes and dislikes. It is in this way that we can match our clients with the best caregiver for them and their situation. Our caring begins where other agencies leave off.

Our basic services include, but are not limited to the following:

COMPANIONSHIP

Companionship services include activities such as company during walks, assistance with hobbies and crafts, playing cards or other games, assistance with reading or writing (particularly for clients with macular degeneration), and help with social and entertaining activities. Companionship services are designed primarily for our clients with dementia when it is no longer safe for them to be left alone due to safety issues or if they are a flight risk. However, companionship services are also beneficial for clients that can no longer drive and would like us to drive and accompany them on an outing.

PERSONAL ASSISTANCE SERVICES

Personal Assistance Services are defined as providing hands-on care to a client. The hands-on care that we provide our clients is generally to assist them with one or more of the 6 basic ADLs or Activities of Daily Living. With help from Caring Companions, our clients receive assistance in their homes as opposed to having these functions provided in a nursing home.

RESPITE CARE

Caring for a loved one can often entail more hours than a full-time job. Without regular relief from the stress and strain, the primary caregiver is endangering their own health and safety. Respite care is a welcome relief for a family member to give them some much needed time off from caring for their loved one. Our caregivers can provide a way to get their batteries recharged and to help prevent getting burned out.

MEDICATION REMINDERS

As part of an overall plan of care, our caregivers remind our clients when it is time to take their medications. If needed, we provide nurses that can regularly set-up pill boxes and reorder prescriptions.

MEAL PREPARATION

Our caregivers not only prepare meals for our clients, but also assist with the grocery shopping and meal planning. We are also able to prepare extra meals for our clients to heat up and eat later. A number of our clients have dietary restrictions and we are able to make sure that they are still eating nutritiously.

ADL Caring CompanionsLAUNDRY

Our caregivers assist with laundry by washing, drying and folding clothes and if needed, we’ll also change bed linens.

LIGHT HOUSEKEEPING

Our caregivers  can assist with maintaining a clean house.  We know the most important areas of the home to keep clean are the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. Our caregivers can help by keeping the whole house clean, making sure that those and other important areas of the house are clean and kept that way. Whether it’s general cleaning, sweeping, mopping, dusting, or taking out the trash, our staff is prepared to help.

TRANSPORTATION

Our caregivers primarily provide transportation for doctors’ appointments, but we will provide transportation for whatever our clients need.

If your loved one has a special need not listed here, please feel free to ask us and we’ll see what we can do to accommodate you and your loved one.
